King's Lynn Festival - 14-27 July, 2019
The King's Lynn Festival is a feast of music. It is also a festival of the ancient town of King's Lynn, with festival walks and exhibitions, music in the square and a lively and extensive fringe festival.
The festival extends to art exhibitions and talks by distinguished speakers as diverse as IVF Pioneer Professor Robert Winston discussing the history of fertility issues, genetic modification and the way reproduction may now be manipulated.and Dr Matthew Bothwell from the Institute of Astronomy, Cambridge, who with composer Tim Watts will discuss the link between music and astronomy. Followed by the world premiere of The Creation of the Universe, a new work by Tim Watts for a narrator and ensemble telling the story of the Big Bang.
Highlights this year include Lesley Garrett and Emma Johnson, the Endillion Quartet and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with the Amatis Piano Trio.
The festival is a fantastic event, bringing to Kings Lynn a huge array of talent, creativity and culture.
