Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market International Horse Trials

Coming to Sussex Farm 29-31 March, 2018, the horse trials are hugely exciting and as well as being a very serious competition with former and potential Olympians, has great country goods shopping and delicious food trucks.... The White House is booked out this weekend, but do pop in and say hello.

The Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market International Horse Trials is based in North West Norfolk and is one of the county’s finest events where visitors can see Olympic and Championship athletes competing on home turf.
The first event ran at Sussex Farm in 1999, and over the years it has become well established within the eventing calendar. It was awarded international status in 2003 and now the event hosts a range of classes from BE100 through to CIC***.

There are two international classes, CIC** and CIC***, held over the three days. Both are classed as ‘one-day’ events, which means they perform their dressage test on either Thursday or Friday and complete the show jumping, followed by the cross country on Saturday.

Riders who regularly compete at Burnham Market include Team GB Olympians Zara Phillips, William Fox-Pitt, Pippa Funnell and Mary King, and local girl and past European Silver Medalist, Piggy French.
